 RECOMMENDATIONS

 A comprehensive code of conduct is needed to improve the role of media and to make them
more responsible because they affect people’s perception, priorities and their thinking
about the political contents.
 The aim of media should be to strengthen the weak and vulnerable segments of society. It is
they who need our support. Journalism is not merely reporting, it involves passion and
humanitarian sensitivity.
 Media must help in stabilizing the national institutions and national socio-economic,
political and administrative structure by pointing out the Flaws and appreciating any Good
work done by the Government or State institutions.
 The media as an institution and fourth pillar of State is accountable and responsible to the
public for its actions, therefore media practitioners should stop thinking they are above the
law and initiate a self accountability system to gain the trust of the audience.
 Media should support our own socio-culture and ideological values instead of showing
Western and Indian culture. Especially the SOAPS are not representing Pakistani culture.
 The print and broadcast media must make every effort to ensure that their coverage is
factual, balanced and informed. Live pictures must be responsibly broadcast.
 Media itself and the people directly or indirectly involve in this industry must be visibly
impartial, evenhanded and unbiased, which will help to strengthen their credibility
 CONCLUSION

To summarize , the objective of media freedom can be realized only

when they have the support and trust of Public. Media can get respect
and protection by acting as a true watchdog, keeping an eye on the
Government on the behalf of public, not criticizing just for the sake of
criticism.
