TOPIC:

 Knowledge Management and Organizational

Learning
INTRODUCTION OF KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT:

 Km is based on the premise that just as human

being are unable to draw on the full potential of
their brains.
 Organizations are generally not able to full
utilize the knowledge that they possess.
 It is used to achieve maximum effective
organizational performance.
KM PROCESSES AND GOALS:

 The processes of KM involve Knowledge

acquisition, creation, refinement, storage,
transfer, sharing and utilization.
 The goal of Km are the improvement of the
organization’s knowledge assets , improved
organizational behavior
ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING:

 Ol is complementary to Km.
 Ol was encoding inferences from history into
routines that guide behavior.
 Ol has to do with embedding what has been
learned into the fabric of the organization.
LITERATURE REVIEW:
 Easterby-smith and Lyles (2003) consider ol to
focus on the process, and KM to focus on the
content, of the knowledge that an organization
acquires, creates, processes and eventually
uses.
 Dixon (1994), is describing an “ organizational
learning cycle” suggested that “ accumulated
knowledge is less significance that the
processes needed to continuously revise”.
GAP

 The gap is arises because of ignorance and

less knowledge in organizations.
 Firms misconsture what they should be
knowing or seeing too know in the first place.
