 Simple Present Tense
• Present Tense
Simple Present Tense is a change in the form
of verbs that are used to express events,
activities and so on that occur at this time.
Present Tense is also used to express a fact,
or something that happens repeatedly in the
present.
FORMULA EXAMPLE
(+) The Nurse checks vital sign
Positif: S + V1 (s/es) everyday
Negatif: S + DO/DOES + NOT + V1 (-) The Nurse doesn’t check vital
sign everyday
Question: DO/DOES + S + V1 ? (?) Does the nurse check vital sign
everyday ?
• Present Continous Tense
Present Continuous Tense is a change in the form of a
verb that is used to express the current events that are
happening now.
FORMULA
(+) Nurse is giving medicine
Positif: S + Tobe + Ving now
Negatif: S + Tobe+ Not+ Ving EXAMPLE (-) Nurse is not giving
Question : Tobe + S + Ving ? medicine now
(?) Is nurse giving medicine
now ?
• Present Perfect Tense
Present Perfect Tense is a change in the form of
a verb that is used to express an action or event
that has been completed at the present time

FORMULA EXAMPLE

(+) Doctor has visited patient for

30 minutes
Positif: S + have/has + V3
(-) Doctor hasn’t visited patient
Negatif: S + have/has Not + V3
for 30 minutes
Question : Have/has + S + V3 ? (?) Has Doctor visited patient for
30 minutes ?
• Simple Past Tense
Simple Past Tense is a change in the form of a verb used to
express an event, an event that has occurred

EXAMPLE

 Positif: S + V2
(+) Nina checked the womb yesterday
 Negatif: S + did not + V1
(-) Nina didn’t check the womb yesterday
 Question : Did + S + V1 ?

(+) Doctor will do a cessarean section

FORMULA
(-) Doctor will not do a cesarean section
