Abstract
Background: Controlling blood glucose levels is essential in patients with diabetes to prevent long-term complications. Uncontrolled
blood glucose levels despite of diverse range of therapies is a major concern to be focused on in diabetic type II patients.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine the barriers to diabetes type II management in terms of patient's diet, disease and
treatment knowledge and compliance and to suggest measures and strategies to overcome them.
Methodology:
The main target and sources of the data were welfare trust hospitals. For this purpose a questionnaire was designed .It was an
observational study conducted on 50 patients with their consent to whom discussions were made. Results were generated on the basis
of recorded data and observations.
Result:
Reason of progressive complications in diabetes 2 patients is uncontrolled blood glucose levels due to deficiency of awareness
regarding diet and medication, poor self-management, non-compliance and rare visits to the physicians.
Conclusion: Collaborative work of healthcare providers is required in the management and control of type 2 diabetes.

Results
The review carried out on self management, complications and education related to diabetes in type 2 patients shows that 88.20%
patients were satisfied with their therapy and 80.40% patients were explained about their disease and treatment by their physicians.
Despite this, patients are having consequences due to uncontrolled diabetes.
