An Insight into my idea of a

Checklist based application :

Software Lifecycle Management
A Brief Description
• This application will help the managers,
leaders, supervisors at various levels to
manage their deadlines and monitor the work
of the employees.
• Employees can also keep a tab of the various
modules they are working on.
Why?
• Meeting deadlines is crucial in any industry.
• Employees progress needs to be monitored by
managers and team leader.
• Requirements are volatile.
• Incase of problems, employees must be able
to communicate with their team mates.
• Communicating new and innovative idea to
solve a particular idea within the team.
How?
• Create an application where in there is a
checklist of the tasks to be done on a weekly
or monthly basis.
• Leaders , supervisors can then check the
progress and check if the task assigned is
“DONE” or “IN PROGRESS”
• If task is “IN PROGRESS” comments can be
added about what portion is incomplete.
• If there is a change in the requirements it can
be communicated to the entire hierarchy of
employees , by indicating in which phase of
the development is it going to bring about a
change. For example in case a client changes
the requirements from a 32 bit application to
a 64 bit application then the necessary
changes are made in the various phases by
adding a comment and making changes in the
modules under that phase.
• On the employees side ,create a checklist of
the modules they are working on. This can be
used to achieve milestones set by the
employee himself. And moreover in case of a
problem, the employee can post a comment
beside the field they are working on and ask
for help.

Selects either the “Done”

Database Update DB radio button if job assigned
is done or “IN PROGRESS” if
task not done and adds a
comment
What?
• Application basically consists of
• A UI on the mobile device for logging in and
getting the checklist.
• Connectivity to the database which holds the
list and preferences.
• The managers , team leaders get a checklist of
the team members and pair of radio buttons
beside each name.
• The radio buttons are used to select if the job
is done or not done. This can be done on a
weekly or monthly basis.
• For the employees the list is similar except
that the list contains tasks assigned to them.
This helps them to meet the deadlines.
Other Applications
• Can be used by shop manager and floor
managers to monitor the work of the staff.
• Schools can use it to evaluate Teacher’s
performance based on student’s feed back.
• Vehicle showrooms can use it to keep a tab on
the number of cars sold.
