• The idea is to use the web page Studentsoftheworld.info as a tool to improve

some of the abilities that we practice in class.

• Studentsoftheworld.info is a web page when you can find a penpal around the
world.
• This French non-profit association began in March 1995 with the idea of open
the world to students and teachers, using a system when you can find
someone with the same languages known, age, sex, hobbies and preferences as
you.

 GENERAL OBJECTIVES

• Present tool to help students to develop the ability to understand and

construct written texts according to a pre-intermediate level of the English
language through the web page studentsoftheworld.info.
 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

• Writing ability:
- That students can produce expository, narrative and descriptive texts such as
e-mails, informal and formal letters, stories and messages.
- Be aware of the strategies necessary to carry out the writing process. During
the class, it will be explained how to carry out the writing process.
 METHODOLOGICAL IMPLEMENTATION

• At first, students are taught the website and how it is used. It ends up creating
a profile with a presentation, hobbies and preferences.
• Afterwards, students are asked to prepare a message including a presentation
and their routine to send to 5 previously selected profiles.
 SAMPLE ACTIVITIES

• Create profile.
• Introduce itself and the activity.
• Find the perfect penpals.
 EXPECTED RESULTS

• Give an account of what was learned.

• Have a more active language exercise.
• Improve writing and reading.
• Increase the vocabulary.
 EVALUATION OF THE PROJECT

• Ask the students to write a letter telling what they thought of the experience.
• Another idea is to use Google forms to create a guide of questions for the
students to answer.
