What Is Level Transducer
 Level transducer detect the level of liquids and other fluids and
fluidized solids, including slurries, granular materials, and powders that
exhibit an upper free surface. Substances that flow become
essentially horizontal in their containers (or other physical boundaries)
because of gravity whereas most bulk solids pile at an angle of repose
to a peak. The substance to be measured can be inside a container or
can be in its natural form (e.g., a river or a lake).

Types of Level Transducer

 Float type
 Displacement Type
 Bubbler
 Ultra Sonic Type

And many more

Float Type Level Transducer

The principle of float type level meter is that a float moves up

and down due to buoyancy. A reed switch in a stem is
actuated by a magnet in the float, and outputs detection
signal (see the figure below). However, the level meter may
not measure liquids with some viscosities and specific gravities.

Displacer Type Level Transducer

Displacer transmitter. Electronic displacer level transmitter technology

operates by detecting changes in buoyancy force caused by liquid level
change. ... These signals are processed in the electronic circuitry and
used to control the current in the 4-20 mA current loop.

Electronic displacer level transmitter technology operates by detecting

changes in buoyancy force caused by liquid level change. These forces
act upon the spring supported displacer causing vertical motion of the
core within a linear variable differential transformer

Bubbler Type Level Transducer

A bubbler system in an accurate and still inexpensive way to measure the

fluid level in open or vented containers. A complete bubbler
level measurement system consists of a source of compressed air, an air
flow restrictor, sensing tube, and pressure transmitter.

Air bubbler systems contain no moving parts, making them suitable for
measuring the level of water, viscous fluids, liquids with large quantities of
suspended solids, slurries, sewage, drainage water and sludge. The only
part of the sensor that contacts the liquid is a dip tube that is chemically
compatible with the material being measured.
