 What is respiratory?

 is the process of oxygen entering the body and carbon dioxide


a waste gas leaving the body.
 What are the upper parts of respiratory tract?
 Nose, mouth, nasal cavity, pharynx

 What are the lower parts of respiratory tract?


 Larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchiolus, alveoli

 Lungs are one most important organ in respiration.


What are lungs?
 The lungs function normally peaks in the late teens and
early twenties.

 After the early twenties, lung function declines about 1


percent a year over the rest of person’s lifetime,

 lung function decrease about 2 percent a year for people


who smoke.

 Each human has two lungs, each lung is between 10-12


inches long.

 Each day we take about 23.000 breath
