Classroom Management

It is the process by which

teachers and schools create and
maintain appropriate behavior of
students in classroom settings.
Key Elements:

1. Rules
These should be short,
direct and positive with no
more than five to 10 rules,
depending on grade level.
2. Discipline
Students should understand
that there will be set of
consequences for their
misbehaviors.
Be firm, fair, and
consistent.
3. Routines
These are the backbone of
daily classroom life. They
facilitate teaching and
learning and also save
valuable classroom time.
4. Seating Arrangements
The right seating
arrangement cannot only
help you control student
behavior but also help you
monitor student work by
allowing you to move freely
in the room.
Your seating arrangement
should also be flexible and
allow students to easily
switch gears from one
activity to the next.
4. Communication
It is the most important aspect
of classroom management.
Be responsive to the
concerns of others. Be
flexible and willing to
accommodate reasonable
requests.
