MOTIVATION

Is the psychological progress of providing purpose and intention


to behaviour.

It explains why people behave the way they do. By using


motivation theories, management can inspire customers to
choose the brand and encourage the employees to take action
and become self-directed.

1. ACQUIRED NEEDS THEORY


- This states that every person has the same needs, but each
other individual prioritizes them differently.
- The Theory identifies “3 Needs”
- Achievement
- Power
- Affiliation

2. OWEN’S THEORY

Robert Owen, a Welsh social reformer, developed this theory.


This theory is based on his experience with machines.

This theory was revolutionary during his time and has continued to
be true.

3. MASLOW’S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS


- Identifies a person’s most basic needs on a progressive pyramid,
ending, with the person’s least basic needs.

- 4. TWO FACTOR THEORY


- - hygiene factor
- - Satisfiers which includes achievement, status, recognition and
potential growth.

- Represents existence needs, relatedness needs and growth
needs.

- A Manager is responsible for supervising and providing
directions to a variety of job tasks such as operations

A manager is responsible for supervising and providing direction to a

He develops and implements departmental goals and objectives and
oversees work task to facilitate meeting those goals and objectives.

A vital responsibility of all managers is to oversee employees and to


ensure work duties are being completed with the overall best interest of
the organization.

A manager is responsible for effective communication with higher


professionals of an organization to report the status of the
company goals and objectives and necessary issues related to
specific department.
