OBJECTIVES
 To Explore the severity and impact of
overloaded vehicles on pavement service life
 To observe the surface condition of the road
due to traffic overloading

 To identify reasons for road detoriaton

 To implicate Traffic impact on road

transport
STUDY AREA
Khammam city in Telangana located at 17°36′0″N
and 80°19′48″E
Altitude of 205 meters(672 feet) above mean sea
level
ROAD SELECTION:-
• In the overloading traffic survey road corridor
selected to investigation
• The road selection is based on the location of
commercial and industrial area mainly coal mines
• road network can taken Yellandu - Kothagudem
5kms road can be taken
TECHNOLOGY

 Global positioning system (GPS)

 Video Graphy
 GIS inter-phases ARC GIS and GOOGLE

SCOPE
 Overloads applied to the pavement, is
important in predicting the pavement life
 In this study the effect of overloading on
pavement life by analyze a traffic data
base (toll-gate/weight-in-motion/static
weight station)
 Analyze the data in terms of average axle
load of vehicle, percentage of over load
and frequency of passage
Literature collect

 “Degree of vehicle overloading &its
implication on road safety in Developing
Countries” MD.
