support the airplane in flight

Convert THRUST FORCE to LIFT


 AILERONS (MAJOR)
 controls the ROLLING MOTION
 Extends from about the midpoint of each wing outward
toward the tip
 Controlled by the yoke from the cockpit
 Rolling to the Left:
Left aileron Up, Right aileron Down
 Rolling to the Right:
Left aileron Down, Right aileron Up

 FLAPS – increases lift


- used in landing and take off
- can be 0 degrees- 40 deg
