Landslide → new equilibrium by reducing load.
In analyzing, please know:
1. system working voltage → vertical voltage, horizontal stress, pore
water pressure.
2. physical and mechanical properties → inner shear angles, cohesion,
weight content
Factors that affect slope stability:
1. Spread of rock → different physical and mechanical properties
of each rock → the strength of holding the load itself is also
different.
2. Relief of the earth's surface → influence the rate of erosion,
precipitation and determine the direction of flow of surface water
and ground water. Examples of steep areas → high surface water
flow velocity → more intensive erosion → faster weathering
3. Geological structure
4. Climate → temperature changes → accelerate the weathering process
of rocks
5. Geometry of slopes → slope height and slope angle.
6. Ground water level → influencing rock load → rocks high water
content strength becomes low
7. Outer force → vibration (e.g. blasting, vehicle traffic)
Types of avalanches:
1. Avalanche fields
2. Wedge avalanches
3. A rolling avalanche
4. Arc avalanches
Avalanche field:
Can occur with conditions:
1.The plane of the glide is parallel or close to the
direction of the plane of the slope surface with a
max difference of 200.
2.The slope of the slope plane <slope of the slope
surface
3. Slope of the sliding plane> inner sliding angle
Wedge avalanche : The occurrence of avalanches
when two discontinuous strokes intersect and the
angle of intersection of the two fields> and
<slope angle.
Rolling avalanche : Occurs on steep slopes and on
hard rock with a column-shaped weak structure.
Arc avalanche : Only occurs in soft soil or rock
material with tightly packed structures.
