 An interjection is a word that
expresses emotion and is often
followed by an exclamation point.
What is an
interjection?
 It has no grammatical relation to
rest of the sentence.
 An interjection is a word that
expresses strong feeling or
emotion
 Usually an interjection comes
at the beginning or end of a
sentence

 It is followed by an exclamation
Awesome! point (!) when the emotion is
strong
 It is followed by a comma (,)
when the emotion is mild
 Try not overuse interjections!

 Sometimes an interjection is set off by a
comma or a pair of commas.
 The fish weighed, oh, about
three pounds.
