- VoIP is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol – VoIP is a technology for the
delivery of real time voice communication over Internet Protocol (IP) network.

-There are 03 types of VoIP connection: Computer to Computer, Computer to


phone and phone to phone.

- Core components of 01 VoIP diagram included:


+ Gateway: is a component transferring signal from analog to digital
+ Voice Server: Servers have routing function and security for VoIP calls
+ End User Equipment: included PC, VoIP phone…

- There are 02 common VoIP protocols: H.323 and SIP

- VoIP Operation: Voice signal will be transferred to digital signal, compressed, then
encoded. After that the data packages will be delivered to receiver over IP network,
decoded, finally transfer to voice signal.
