• Adolescence is a transitional stage of
physical and psychological development
that generally occurs during the period from
puberty to legal adulthood. Adolescence is
usually associated with the teenage years,
but its physical, psychological or cultural
expressions may begin earlier and end
later.
•The stage in life when sexual
behaviors develop and become
established.
•A lot of concerns on sexuality
confront teenagers at present.
• also known as adolescent pregnancy, is pregnancy in
a female under the age of 20.

rising numbers of teen mothers.

inadequate prenatal care, abortion, fetal
death, and risk of acquiring cervical
cancer.

• SEXUAL IDENTITY CRISIS- refers to an
individual’s concept of themselves.
• SEXUAL BEHAVIOR- refers to the actual
sexual acts performed by an individual.
• IDENTITY CONFUSION- usually occurs
during early and later adolescence.
Sexual attraction toward members of
the same sex starts to begin, often
occurring with the absence of attraction
towards the opposite sex and is also
the time when they begin to experiment
sexually.
• SENSIZATION- first developmental stage of
gay, lesbian and bisexual adolescents. This is
when the person recalls feelings of being
different from peers of the same sex during
early and middle childhood.
