Michelle Obama wins India with her
understated style
US First Lady Michelle Obama , who has a reputation of
being a fashionista, kept her sartorial choice for her India visit
trendy but understated though some designers felt she
should have opted for a saree at some events.
All eyes were on the wife of visiting US President Barrack
Obama for a peek on the choice of her ensemble as she landed
in Mumbai. She opted for a a chic grey knee-length tunic
dress with pearl buttons that resembled an Indian kurti.
Google is likely to buy more companies about the size of YouTube and
DoubleClick, its two largest deals, to help offer more online services, the
company’s head of mergers and acquisitions said in an interview last
week. Dell plans more takeovers in its drive to double the size of its data-
center business to $30 bn in sales, a company executive said.
Setting the tone for 3G mobile services, Tata Teleservices which has
DoCoMo of Japan as its partner, announced the call tariff at just
0.66 paise per second.
Tata, however, clarified that pulse rate would be 'per second' and
subscribers would be charged only for number of seconds used.
The Company launched its 3G services this
Diwali in nine Circles - Karnataka, Kerala, Rest
of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab,
Haryana, Madhya-Pradesh-Chhattisgarh and
UP (West).
Other private operators like Bharti and
Vodafone are also likely to start 3G services in
the next few months. But the benchmark set by
Tata DoCoMo would once again put pressure
on all the operators to follow 'per second'
pulse.
Forbes names Bill Gates 'Most Powerful Man
in technology'
Bill Gates has been listed as the most powerful man in the
technology world by Forbes.
The founder of Microsoft , Gates has been named the 10th most
powerful man in the world, ahead of the likes of Rupert
Murdoch , Hillary Clinton and Steve Jobs, reports The
Telegraph.
Forbes has praised him for his work in coaxing 40 of the
world's richest people to pledge the majority of their wealth to
charities and good causes.
Apple's chief Steve Jobs is recognised by Forbes for his "insane"
creativity and ability to "transform multi-billion dollar industry
every few years" with his latest must-have devices, such as the
iPhone and iPad.
Larry Page and Sergey Brin, co-founders of Google, appear jointly at
number 22 in the list, while Mark Zuckerberg, the social network's founder,
is ranked 18 places lower, at 40 on the Forbes Powerful People List for 2010.
