It became more clearly defined in 1993 when Tay Vaughan described it in his book as any computer-delivered electronic system that is interactive. Examples include video games where users can generate computer commands. The main advantages are that it increases learning effectiveness, gains attention, is more appealing and easy to use while being entertaining and educational.

    The term multimedia was coined
    by singer and artist Bobb Goldstein in 1966.
    Goldstein came up with the term to describe the
    technical nature of his entertainment.
    • The term multimedia has taken almost
    40 years to have coherent meaning

    of use. until came 1993 wherein

    Tay Vaughan declared the definition in his

    book entitled “Multimedia: Making it Work”

    called interactive when it allows people to generate

    Non-linear uses interactivity to control progress as with a video


    game or self-paced computer based training.
