INTRODUCTION
A SIGNIFICANT ASPECT OF BOOSTING OUR ECONOMY IS ENHANCING OUR AGRICULTURAL
GROWTH. SMALL FARMERS, SCATTERED ACROSS INDIA HAVE ABOUT 85% CONTRIBUTION TO
INDIAN AGRICULTURE AND HAVE LIMITED ACCESS TO AGRICULTURAL INPUTS SPECIFICALLY
MECHANIZED TOOLS. HOWEVER, WITH AWARENESS, THERE HAS BEEN A PARADIGM SHIFT IN
THIS FUNCTION. THE EMERGENCE OF FARM MACHINERY RENTAL MODELS, EXPOSURE AND
THEIR UTILIZATION SO FAR, RECOMMENDATIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE FUTURE
MIGHT BE ONE OF THE KEY ELEMENTS IN THE BLOOM OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR IN
INDIA.

AGRICULTURAL STAGES:

Land Weeding,

cultivation, and and Agro

OBJECTIVES
OBJECTIVE 1: STUDY THE FACTORS THAT MOTIVATE FARMERS TO USE MACHINERY.

Hypothesis Variables
• Farmers who are financially sound are more capable Income
to go for machinery
• Farmers with the larger land holdings will tend to Land Holding size
have a higher machinery
• Farmers with greater level of education will tend to Education level
use more machinery
• To differentiate the crops based on the extent of Crop type
machinery usage (Intensive/Moderate/Light)

OBJECTIVE 2: STUDY THE MAJOR MACHINERY USED EVERY STAGE OF FARMING.

Hypothesis Variables
• At every stage of farming a particular machinery is Machinery type
most commonly used
Objective 3: Study the distribution of farm machinery.
Hypothesis Variables
• Farmers has access to machinery from Government/Private No. of Players,
players Distance
• Availability of machinery service centers for farmers No. of service centers

Objective 4: Study the financing options available for farmers.

Hypothesis Variables
• Lower interest rate, less collateral requirements, longer Interest rates, No. of
repayment period, ample subsidy from government collaterals required,
facilities farmers to avail loans to rent/own machinery Repayment period,
Subsidy amount

Objective 5: Studying the efficiency of machinery models.

Hypothesis Variables
• Renting is more efficient as compared to owning a Cost per square foot
machinery of production
