What is DMAIC?-Background
 First let me give you little background,
 DMAIC is virtual model/strategy which is often used to
implement six sigma practice.
 It’s easy to use because it gives you template for any
project (which you may be planning to implement)
 Please understand that this is very common model and
you are not bound to follow it.. You can always create
any new system model which works for your company
culture.
 But, It’s good to learn DMAIC to get started

 C- Control
 Wait!!!
 Dude, it’s important that you guys MUST visualize
your workplace an projects when going through next
few slides
 This may save you $200,000 ATLEAST in training
cost given: (Your boss/company gonna spend
$12,000/head on six sigma course and 10 candidates
from your company + transition cost.. Bla bla bla.)
No-s%^& … I WAS BLOWN AWAY NOT BY THE
TRAINING BUT THE DAMN TRAINING COST HUH..
So What are the Projects?
 Do not start to dream for big bonus cheq after you saved $100,000 overnight.. It’s
not some get rich scheme.. Lol.
 You have develop various systems
 Automation
 Software
 New Machines
 PEOPLE SKILLS (10/10 priority)
 Team building skills (10/10 priority)

If you can’t develop good people skills then I don’t care who you are and what
education level / grade you have achieved … everything will be destroyed and
believe it or not.. Your company share value will collapse, company funds will be
gone, and I might end up buying your company because I may afford it.. LOL..

I am not trying to scare your ass off.. But this is the bitter truth… failure to implement
this correctly will just cost your company FORTUNE!!!
BUT…
 GOOD STUFF IS THAT

 Your company may end up getting tons of patents…

 Motivated and Confident employees
 Less HR cost.. As 100,000 people will be at door to
work for you
 Suppliers, Share holders, Stake holders will be in
LOVE with you…
Back to the point---Projects
 Ideal start point will be picking up simple areas..

 TRICK!!

 Choose areas where you/team members can start the

project, create require process, implement the
process and see the change.
 Do not HIRE—Do not hire ANYONE from outside
to help you out..

 Various skills in team members
 Report writing
 Presentation
 Software writing
 Process development
 Knowledge of that project../department
Some project areas: examples
 Job application tracking/processing
 Accounts payble/reciveable
 Supplier communication method
 IT issue resolution process
 Response to Customer inquiries
 Floor worker information system..

etc…

There may be more.. But I hope this may atleast gives you an
idea where to look …
SOO..
 Now you have an idea of some project areas
then follow the DMAIC pattern
 Define the problem
 Measure the problem
 Analyze the problem
 Implement the solution
 Control the process
LISTEN!!!!
 Finishing the project doesn’t mean you are
done..
 REPEAT THE ENTIRE PROCESS AGAIN
AND AGAIN … with new system you
developed (“implement the solution stage”)
 You will notice that innovation is now
becoming part of your proecess..

 The whole idea and trick to become
successful in this practice is that
 To raise entire generation of your company
embedded with willingness to change
 I am glad you are seeing this page..
