This document provides 7 steps to setup a TP-Link router:
1. Connect a computer to the router via Ethernet and access the router's web interface.
2. Configure the router's LAN IP address outside of the DHCP range.
3. Configure the wireless network name and security settings.
4. Enable the DHCP server.
5. Reboot the router for changes to take effect.
6. Verify the computer's IP configuration matches the router.
7. An activity is provided to setup the router with specific requirements.

LAN PORT ON YOUR TP-LINK ROUTER USING AN ETHERNET CABLE.* LOGIN TO THE TP-LINK WEB INTERFACE THROUGH THE IP ADDRESS LISTED ON THE LABEL ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR TP-LINK ROUTER. STEP 2 GO TO NETWORK>LAN ON THE SIDE MENU AND LOOK AT THE LAN IP ADDRESS OF YOUR TP-LINK ROUTER TO AN IP ADDRESS ON THE SAME SEGMENT OF THE ROUTER. THIS IP ADDRESS SHOULD BE OUTSIDE THE ROUTER’S DHCP RANGE.
EXAMPLE: IF THE DHCP OF YOUR ROUTER IS
192.168.0.100 – 192.168.0.199 THEN YOU CAN SET THE IP OF THE TP-LINK ROUTER TO 192.168.2.X (X SHOULD BE OUTSIDE ROUTER'S DHCP RANGE), LIKE 192.168.2.11. STEP 3
GO TO WIRELESS>WIRELESS SETTINGS AND CONFIGURE
THE SSID (NETWORK NAME)WHICH CAN BE THE SAME OR DIFFERENT FROM THE MAIN ROUTER’S. SELECT SAVE. STEP 4
GO TO WIRELESS>WIRELESS SECURITY AND CONFIGURE
THE WIRELESS SECURITY. WPA/WPA2-PERSONAL IS RECOMMENDED AS THE MOST SECURE OPTION. ONCE CONFIGURED, CLICK SAVE. STEP 5
GO TO DHCP>DHCP SETTINGS AND SELECT ENABLE THE
DHCP SERVER. SELECT SAVE. STEP 6
GO TO SYSTEM TOOLS>REBOOT AND SELECT REBOOT
TO REBOOT THE DEVICE. STEP 7
LOOK AT YOUR COMPUTER IP
CONFIGURATION BY USING IPCONFIG COMMAND OR JUST GO TO NETWORK PROPERTIES. IT SHOULD BE ALIGNED WITH YOUR ROUTER CONFIGURATION. ACTIVITY 4 SETUP YOUR ROUTER WITH THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: 1. ROUTER IP ADDRESS: 192.168.3.1 2. DHCP RANGE : 192.168.3. 10 – 192.168.3.20 3. CLIENT SHOULD ALIGN WITH ROUTER’S CONFIGURATION 4. YOUR SSID MUST BE YOUR COMP NAME
