Introduction:
 A social entrepreneur is a person who pursues novel applications
that have the potential to solve community-based problems. These
individuals are willing to take on the risk and effort to create positive
changes in society through their initiatives.

 It is all about making a research to completely define a particular


social problem and then organizing, creating and managing a social
venture to attain the desired change.

 Not only aims at improving the performance and profit of his own
organization, but also aims at providing positive profits to the society.

 The social enterprise model has been a staple of Nepali culture since
ancient times. Local communities such as the Newa have established
“Guthi,” a system that maintains socio-economic order by conducting
social activities and generating revenue from the members of the
Organization.

 Nepal is following the path of modernization and development.
 Despite of national and international expenditure Nepal still facing the
increase in income inequality.
 Global indicators on the status of governance in Nepal reveal several
issues of concern. n 2009, Nepal rated below the 50th percentile in all six
dimensions of the World Bank’s World Wide Governance indicators (i.e.
political stability, the absence of violence, government effectiveness,
regulatory quality, rule of law and control of corruption).
 Every year, the government allocates its budget towards funds that can
support and capacitate new entrepreneurs. Some of these funds
include: Youth and Small Entrepreneur Self-Employment Fund, Rural Self
Reliance Fund, Economic Rehabilitation Fund, and Women Entrepreneurship
Development Fund.
 There are many sector that needs attention government attention is very poor or
not at all.
