KRASEN’S 5 HYPHOTHESIS :

1. THE NATURAL ORDER HYPHOTESIS ;’ we acquire the rules of

language in a predicable order’
2. THE ACQUISITION/LEARNING HYPHOTESIS ; ‘Adult have two
distinctive ways of developing competences in l2 for real
comunication....learning....”knowing about” language (krashen & Terrel
1983)
3. THE MONITOR HYPOTHESIS; ‘Concious learning........... Can only be
used as a monitor or an editor’ (krashen & Terrel 1983)
4. THE INPUT HYPOTHESIS; ‘human acquire language in only one way –by
understanding massages or by receiving “comprehensible input”’
5. THE EFFECTIVE FILTER : a mental block, caused by affective
factor.... That prevents input from reacing the languge acquisition
device’ (krasen, 1985, p.100)
