INTRODUCTION
o As we all know The electronics industry is the world’s largest
and fastest growing manufacturing industry.
o According to the Consumer Electronics Association, the
average American household contains around 24 electronic
gadgets.
o In India, there are 650 million people uses mobile phone, while
in the India, each person buys one new electrical items every
year.
o All those electronics leave a lot of waste behind once they are
no longer needed. On top of plastics, there are many other
substances found in every electronics device, including lead in
cathode-ray tube in screens, selenium in circuit boards and
cadmium in semiconductors.
o These substances not only pose a risk to the environment if not
disposed of correctly, but can also be harmful to human health .

• A lot of electronic companies tend to have an exchange policy where by they take back your
old gadgets when you buy a later version, sometimes offering you a discount on your new
purchase for returning your old gadgets. here are some company name.
• Apple stores will take back old products, and in some instances you can even get credit in the
form of gift cards for gadgets that still work.
• Dell has a mail-back service that lets you print a pre-paid FedEx return label for your old PC
• HP has a comprehensive range of product take-back initiatives across its range, with a

• LG as a list of drop-off sites for products, and also offers free packaging recycling.
• Sony has partnered with a range of drop-off locations across the US to accept products, and
offers a free shipping label for items weighing less than 25 lbs.

• Repair and upgrade
• Just because a device is older doesn't mean it's worthless. Ask your information technology (IT)
department for a cost-benefit analysis for repairing or upgrading old gear. which means replacing
the lowest level of software with a new version

• Old computers don't necessarily have a lot of value to many people, although you can check eBay
and other sites that allow individuals and companies to sell used products. It may be that what
no longer has worth to you might be helpful to someone else. Companies such as Swappa,

In some cases, the devices may not even have to work.

• Another possibility is to donate electronics. You don't get cash, but your accounting department
and lawyers can tell you whether there could be a tax deduction available.
• As with selling or swapping, be sure there is no confidential or personal information left on the
devices.
