In order for people to understand the differences between the choices, they have
to be able to understand the consequences associated with each choice , and
that the consequences need to be felt in a very concrete way.
CATEGORIZE

More categories=less choices


Simplify a consumer’s decision making process through categorizing
the many products that your brand offers—people feel like they are
given more choice if the number of categories is shorter, not longer.
COMPLEXITY

Start small and gradually increase decision making complexity to help


your customer mentally prepare for more and more choices –they will
eventually grow accustomed to later, more intricate decision making.
CUT

Less is more
 Sheena has seen many cases where websites increase revenue,
lower costs and improve customer experience by cutting down the
number of choices presented to their customers.
 One way to cut down on supply is to ask your employees to
describe the difference between two seemingly similar products.
If they can’t ,the customers will definitely not be able to do it either.
