What is Suggestopedia ?

 It is a method developed in the 1970s by the


Bulgarian psychiatrist educator Georgi
Lozanov (1926-2012).

 Suggestopedia relies on the power of


suggestion for acquiring language
knowledge by incorporating in the learning
process musical and classical art .

 According to the theory, if students feel


relaxed and comfortable, they’ll be more
receptive to learning new information
HOW DOES IT WORK?

Lozanov (2005) stated that there are four stages


in suggestopedia method, those are:

 Presentation Stage
 Concert Sessions : an active session and a
passive one
 Elaboration
 Practice stage
