 Introduction

•Bicycle is a common form of transportation.

•Self-balancing bicycle worked with the help
of control moment gyroscope(CMG).
•CMG can produce large amount of Torque.
•It has no ground reaction forces.
 Components
• Atmega16 MCU
• Thin tyres of Diameter 12 cm.
• Flywheel
• 1-axis Gyro Sensor(LY530ALH)
• 3-axis Accelerometer(MMA7260Q
• High Torque Dc Motor(for the flywheel)
• Low torque DC Motor(for driving)
 Basic Idea

•We can safely ride the bicycle.

•You can learn cycling.
•Self balancing bicycle use sensors to detect
the roll angle of the bicycle.
•There are actuators to bring it into balance as
needed.
 Control moment gyroscope
• This large torque, but energy
consumption is very high because the
flywheel is spinning all the time.
• It consists a large, constant angular
momentum, which vector direction can
be changed for a bicycle by rotating the
spinning rotor.
CMG SYSTEM
 Driving
• The driving design is very basic . Two control
buttons are there which act like gears , One is
for increasing the gear and other is for
decreasing it. There are three simple gear
states ( 1st : forward motion , 2nd : Halt , 3rd :
Reverse motion). Whenever the gears are
shifted the PWM is changed in such a manner
that the shift takes place gradually . The Driving
code is as follows
