FOR SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Apart from legislation and circulars the guidelines given in the
following indian standards may also considered for preparation of
SMP

1. IS 18001:2007 (occupational Health and safety Management


System)

2. 31000:2009 (Risk Management principle and guidelines)

3. 15656:2006 (Hazard Identification and Risk analysis)


IMPORTANT OF SMP AS PER CMR-2017
Reg.38 – general responsibility of supplier manufacturer and designer

He shall give information on how to eliminate or control risk arising from the
identified hazard associated with the products

Reg.39- Responsibility of contractor

Provide for identifying hazard and the measures to eliminate and control risk
Provide relevant workplace safety and health hazards awareness and training to

O/A/M shall identify and assess the risk by appropriate process and record
the same and make available to all concerned.
O/A/M shall determine measures to eliminate/control/minimise the risk or
to provide PPE
O/A/M shall prepare an auditable document called SMP.
The SMP shall contain policy planning , methodology , PHMP , SOP’S , way
to measure / monitor / evaluate the performance of SMP and a plan to
review the SMP
O / A/ M shall responsible for effective implementation and periodically
review SMP.
