easily with one another.

together, their way of thinking varies.

their views and beliefs

• Language is one cultural barrier that is
observed in people coming from different
parts of the world
• Many of us hesitate to communicate with a
foreigner because we are unable to
understand his language or accent
• For example, An Asian may not feel
comfortable talking to an Australian, owing to
his/her heavy English accent

(6) GENDER BARRIERS
• A woman speaks between 22,000 and 25,000
words a day whereas a man speaks between
7,000 and 10,000

• In childhood, girls speak earlier than boys and


at the age of three, have a vocabulary twice
that of boys
• a man talks in a linear, logical and compartmentalised way,
features of left-brain thinking
• whereas a woman talks more freely mixing logic and emotion,
features of both sides of the brain
(7) INTERPERSONAL BARRIERS
• what ultimately keep us from reaching out to
each other and opening ourselves up, not just to
be heard, but to hear others
• Some people spend their entire lives attempting
to overcome a poor self-image or a series of
deeply rooted prejudices about their place in the
world.

with people because they have too many false
