local advertising
• When local manufacturers advertise their
products in the local magazines or dailies or
give ads through local channels of cable T.V., it
will fall in the category of local advertising.
Reminder Advertising
• The objective of this type of advertising is to
build brand awareness or keeping the brand
name in the minds of consumers time and
again.
Teaser Advertising
• While introducing a new product some
advertisers use teaser advertising to build up
curiosity amongst target audience.
Institutional Advertising
• This type of advertising is done with the
objective of creating a positive image of
organization and also acquaints the public
about its various products or product lines.
Industrial Advertising
• This type of advertisement is given by the
manufacturers of Industrial goods and is
targeted towards industrial buyers only.
Trade Advertising
• Advertising directed towards channels of
distribution is called trade advertising.
Professional Advertising
• When advertising is directed towards
professionals, such as, doctors, architects,
teachers etc.
Political Advertising
• The political parties and their candidates
generally do political advertising in order to
get support from the general public.
Financial Advertising
• Financial advertising is done by Financial
Institutions, such as, Public Ltd. Companies,
banks, insurance companies etc. in order to
invite public to subscribe in the shares and
debentures.
Social Advertising
• The idea of giving such ads is to basically
change the mindset of people in order to
bring about a behavioral change.
Covert Advertising
• When a product is shown in the background
or being used by the artist in a movie or a T.V.
serial, this also leads to a promotion of a
product under the category of covert
advertising.
Co-Operative Advertising
• Under this type of advertising there is a
contractual arrangement between the
manufacturer and the resellers to share the
media cost.
Surrogate Advertising
• This type of advertising is based on brand
extension because the laws of our country do
not permit advertising of a certain product
category.
