• Zee is one of the most popular brands in Indian Media And
Entertainment industry. It has also become very popular
with the viewers in the global market. Zee also has various
Hindi movie channels, apart from regional and musical
channels.
• The company's Chairman, Managing Director and Founder is
Subhash Chandra and its Chief Executive Officer is Puneet
Goenka.
• It launched in October 1992 and has since grown into a
dominant player in Indian television. It has expanded
operations abroad, with several of its channels available in
the UK and U.S. as well as Africa and Asia.
• In 2002 Zee Entertainment Enterprises acquired a majority
stake (51%) in ETC Networks

• In 2006, they acquired Integrated Subscriber Management

Services Limited and in November 2006, Zee acquired an
interest (50%) in Asian sports network TEN Sports

• As Zee Telefilms, the company formed part of BSE Sensex

from 2000-2005. The news and regional entertainment
channel business was spun off into a separate company in
2006 under the corporate banner Zee News Ltd

• ZTL was established in October 1992 as a content supplier

for Zee TV. It was India's first Hindi satellite channel. Zee
channels have a viewer base of over 250 million across the
globe. It operate in 5 continents across 120 countries.

• Zee TV won the FICCI award for creativity in visual
media.

• In 1998, Zee won the "EMERGING COMPANY OF

THE YEAR AWARD" from the Economic Times.

As on March 31, 2006, Zee had the total annual

revenues of Rs 16.5 billion, as compared to Rs 13.2
billion for the previous year, and total assets of
approximately Rs 26.3 billion.

• THE Chairman of Zee Telefilms, Mr Subhash
Chandra, is back in action. After acquiring the
television rights for the matches organised by
the Board of Control for Cricket in India
(BCCI), the Zee chief is said to be personally involved in the
creation of a new channel and working out strategies for
cricket.

• "He is good at spotting winners, be it foraying into

broadcasting or launching new programming options like Aap
Ki Adalat or India's Most Wanted," said an industry source
• Zee chairman Subhash Chandra's younger
brothers Jawahar and Laxmi operationally manage the
Siti Cable and Zee News end of the businesses
presently.

• Siti Cable is the country's biggest cable network while

Dish TV has about a million subscribers.

• Balaji Telefilm Operational losses for the three months
running through to December stood at Rs 29.06 million
as against Rs 46.47 million in the trailing quarter,
indicating an easing of the pain without any dramatic
turnaround prospects in the near future. In the prior
year period, which was hit by a row between producers
and workers, operational loss stood at Rs 17.23 million.

• Zee Telefilms has reported a net profit of

Rs 45.22 crore for the quarter ended June
30, compared with Rs 17.07 crore in the
corresponding period of the previous year.
