THE OPENING
• Hook the audience: a comment, relevant story, question, statement, or
example
• The introduction: 3-5 minutes

• Establish your credibility
• Describe how the audience will benefit if they listen to your presentation
• Briefly preview the main points you’ll cover in your talk
