The Denver Developmental Screening Test, was
developed to detect developmental delays in the
first 6 years of a child’s life, with special emphasis
on the first 2 years. A line is drawn from top to
bottom of the sheet according to the age of the
child. Each of the milestones crossed by this line is
tested. Each milestone has a bar that indicates the
percentage of the “standard” population that
should be able to perform this task. Failure to
perform an item passed by 90% of children is
significant. Two failures in any of the four main
areas indicate a developmental delay.
