PRELIMINARY
Diabetic patients do not need to undergo a "special diet" or adhere to strict
dietary restrictions and regulation, which is considered to be the key to diet
in previous years. However, good eating behavior is very important for
controlling diabetes and contributes to improving the sense of well-being
and long-term health conditions.
Optimal choice of healthy food for diabetic patients is the same as the
general public and ideally should be low in fat, sugar and salt, including fruits
and vegetables and made from staple foods containing starch, such as
bread, potatoes and rice.
Purpose of Diabetes Mellitus Diet
1. Jumlah Kalori
The number of meals (number of calories) recommended for diabetics is to
eat more often with small portions. Diabetics are not recommended to eat
in large portions or at once. The purpose is to do this way of eating so that
the number of calories continues to be evenly distributed throughout the
day, so that the workload of body organs is not heavy, especially the
pancreatic organs.
