DEFINITION:

• A CV (curriculum vitae) allows you to summarize


your education, skills and experience.
• In the USA and Canada it's known as a résumé
FORMAT OF CV

List everything in chronological order


Clear spacing and bullet points
A4 paper should be used
Professional font
FONT:

Professional font should be used.


 Size-10 Ariel, Times New Roman 12 not like comic sans.

HOW LONG SHOULD A CV BE?

• A standard CV in the UK should be no longer than


two sides of A4.
• Only include the main facts; if your CV is just one
page, that's fine, as employers only want to read
relevant information. Some medical or academic
CVs may be longer depending on your experience.

• Profile
• Education
• Work experience
• Skills and achievements
• Interests
• References
DETAILS:

• Contact details should have email address, full name, home


address, and mobile number. Picture is required if you are
applying for acting or modelling.
• Profile to highlight your key attributes with few relevant
achievements and skills.
• Education should be listed with dates in chronological order.
• Work experience should be in chronological order.
DETAILS:

• Skills and achievements should be relevant to job


and not over-exaggerated.
• Interests provide the picture of you and also
something to talk about at interview.
POINTS TO MAKE A GOOD CV

Avoid spelling or grammar mistakes.


Do not put curriculum vitae on the top.
Do not lie or exaggerate.
Professional sounding email address should be used.
Avoid using some phrases i.e hardworking.
Check the company’s website.
