Goals
“Community-based MPA forbiodiversity
and ecosystem protection to support
sustainable fisheries and livelihoods “

USAID SEA Project, inayah/2017

Dirga, SCGIS 2018 7
Objectives

Protect ETP (Endangered, Threatened and Protected) biodiversity species,

 and estuary and mangrove ecosystems

 Protect important areas in ecosystem to support fish life cycle

 Strengthen cultural and custom to support livelihoods of local communities

USAID SEA Project, inayah/2017

Dirga, SCGIS 2018 8
Targets

 30% of mangrove ecosystem is protected in MPA

 40% of nursery ground of fisheries targets are protected in MPA

 40% of ETP habitat are protected in MPA

 10% of ETP Species are protected in MPA
 Local community utilization and cultural areas are accommodated in MPA

Next steps
 Public Consultation with government and
community

 Stand up for High recommendation class

?

 Trade and loss calculation for

each area
?
 Re-analysis and find the best
recommendation for MPA and MPA Zone

 Give several recommendations to

? accommodate public and government inputs
