Solitude sweet solitude, gentle is your whisper in my ears,
You envelop me, embrace me, your veil covers all my fears.
Solitude sweet solitude, soothing is your brush against my skin,
You calm me, comfort me, you subside anxieties that simmer

VIEW OF
within.

Solitude sweet solitude, you are all I have been seeing,

To me you are an unassuming being,

ROBINSON
You pour into the depths of me, you break shackles of bondage.
It is your resilience that sets me free.

Solitude sweet solitude, my aura you uplift,

You overwhelm, you overflow, you captivate and mesmerise me.

CRUSOE
Life has its twists, like the seasons it will change,
But solitude sweet solitude, you’ll always stay the same.

Solitude sweet solitude, your presence is uncanny

I feel it around, it exists timelessly.
For all eternity, in serenity you will carelessly abound.
Solitude sweet solitude, peace and calm in you is found

I have written this poem from the point of view of Robinson
Crusoe. The poem is titled Solitude and talks about how
sometimes it’s important to enjoy your own company and
love yourself rather than expecting love from others.
Throughout the story, Robinson Crusoe is also lonely but
finds peace in solitude.

SELF LOVE TO FIGHT DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY

"Why is self-love important?" you might ask. For many of us, self-
love might sound like a luxury rather than a necessity — or a
new-age fad for those with too much time on their hands.
Ironically, however, self-care and -compassion might actually be
needed most by those of us who work too hard and who are
constantly striving to surpass ourselves and grasp the shape-
shifting phantasm of perfection.
