There has been a growing concern among parents as

well as educators concerning the effectiveness of
school programs. Slavin (2012) and Woolfolk (2013)
provide examples of what they believe are
characteristics of good schools.

▧ A curriculum that emphasizes academics
▧ Frequent assessment of student's performance

crowded curriculum.

Counselors are to base their recommendations

on a background of accepted academic
findings and research, as well as
straightforward information that identifies
connections between learned basic skills and
work requirements.

The development period of early childhood
is a relevant concern of the elementary
school counselor. Planning strategies and
joint activities with teachers and parents
that meet the approval of administration is
an awesome task and requires a solid
academic background and relevant
professional experience.
