INTRODUCTION
• This report presents the design, implementation, and testing
of a dual band cell phone jammer and mobile phone
detector.
• This jammer works at GSM900MHz and GSM1800MHz
simultaneously.
• A GSM Jammer is a device that transmit signal on the
same frequency at which the GSM system operates.
• Mobile detector can sence the precence of activated mobile
phones even if a mobile phone is in silent mode.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

• The issue that initiated us to conduct the project is

prevent the use of cell phone in library, class room,
exam hall, conference room, hospital,
mosque/church, bomb squad, prison, military and so
on.
• Now a day in may universities students use mobile
phones in library, class room and exam hall illegally
this activities reduce the educational quality and
student performance and that is why we conduct this
project.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

General objective

The General objective of this project is to

design a cell phone jammer and detector circuit
that works at 900MHz and 1800MHz frequency
(dual band).

18/08/2019 6
 Specific objective

To design a Voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO)

circuit that generates the radio signal that will
interfere with the cell phone signal.
To design Tuning circuit that controls the frequency
at which the jammer broadcasts its signal by
sending a particular voltage to the oscillator.
To design RF amplification that boosts the power
of the radio frequency.
To select antenna that send the jamming signal
into the air.
18/08/2019 7
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
 GSM jammer helps us to silence GSM mobile
phones in quite areas and thus enforce the respect
of people’s privacy.
 GSM can also help to maintain confidentiality of
some high security governmental organization,
meetings by denying the successful transport of
information from the transmitter to the receiver,
and vice-versa.

18/08/2019 8
GSM jammer also used in Gas stations where radio
signal equipment is not needed.

Designing hardware part with high flexibility for

Arbaminch University, Educational ground station
and making it available for use or modification by
students, graduates and researchers.

LITERATURE REVIEW
The invetor of mobile phone jammer was the
physicist Jemes Maxwell.
IN 2013 in Arbaminch University two students
Kokeb G/Medhin and Kante Ledamo where tried to
do single band cell phone jammer or GSM900MHz
jammer with simulation only.
what make us different is we work on dual band
cell phone jammer (GSM900MHz and
GSM1800MHz) with cell phone detector both on
simulation and hardware.

SCOPE
• In our design the jamming distance is about minimum 10m and
detector range is 2m.
• The jamming technique we used is Denial of Service with jamming
frequency
GSM900 = 935-960MHz
GSM1800 = 1805-1880MHz

18/08/2019 12
Expected result
 After we accomplish this project we expect:

 To jam or block cell phone signal with in

distance of 20m for GSM900MHz and 10m for
GSM1800MHz succefully .

 Cell phone detector circuit can detect the

presence of active mobile phone with in the
range of 2m.
