Manila Bay was published in 1912.
 It describes the Philippines “the
scene so fair” as a picturesque
country before the intrusion of
America.
 It is about Manila Bay battle 1898.
 Manila bay then was a serene place.
 The ambiance of the bay was so peaceful
that one could see the reflection of the
moonlight on the water.
 The water was placid, the placed was
unharmed and the people were untroubled.
 They were living a passive life.
 In this poem, Maramag is expressing what he
felt during war.

war.
