What is force and Motion?

What is the difference between

force and motion?
MOTION
Look at the following
pictures. What does
each show?
LESSON PROPER
TYPES OF FORCES
OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are
able to:

a. Identify the different types of forces

b. Appreciate the importance of forces
in nature
c. Demonstrate the different types of
forces
Watch the video clip about
the Types of Forces
http://youtube
Based on the video clip, what are
the classifications of force?

1. Can you identify the types of

forces?

2. Demonstrate/show the types of

forces?
FORCE IS CLASSIFIED INTO:

CONTACT FORCE NON-CONTACT

FORCE
Force exists Force exists
between between
objects objects NOT
touching touching
each other. each other.
CONTACT FORCE

Force exists between

objects touching each
other.
APPLIED FORCE
Force applied
by a person or
another object.
Example:
pushing the ball
NORMAL FORCE
is the support force
exerted upon an object
which is in contact with
another stable object.
Example: a book is
resting upon a surface,
then the surface is
exerting an upward force
upon the book in order to
support the weight of the
book.
FRICTION FORCE
is the force
existing
between the
surfaces of the
two objects.
Example: ice
skating
TENSION FORCE
are two
opposing force
acting on an
object like a
string or wire.
NON-CONTACT
FORCE

Force exists between

objects NOT touching
each other.
GRAVITATIONAL
FORCE
is the force
exerted by
gravity on
an object.
MAGNETIC FORCE
is the force stronger
force than
gravitational force
but covers only
shorter distance than
the magnetic force
which acts only on
specific objects like
metals.
ASSESSMENT
Group the pupils into five.
Each group will perform
and conduct the given
task and answer the given
question.
GROUP ACTIVITY

Group the pupils into five.

Each group will demonstrate
the type of force given. Then
answer the question by using
the letters to form the
correct word. (3min.)
Group 1– Use a magnet to attract paper
clips and pins. (Magnetic Force)
Group 2- Using a ball throw it in an
upward position. Observe.
(Gravitational Force)
Group 3 – Use a rubber band to hit a
target (Tension Force)
Group 4 – Push the toy car. Observe.
(Friction Force)
Group 5 – Move your armchair
backward. Roll the ball. (Applied Force)
