Background of the study

 Department of Education (DepEd)


had employed a solution for the
deteriorating academic
performance of students in the field
of science and technology.

 DepEd Order No. 39, s.2012,


interventions have to be made in
order to address learning gaps.
• Strategic Intervention Materials
(SIM), is identified as one of the
suggested various intervention
form that can bridge learning
gaps.

• According to Bunagan (2012) SIM


is meant to re-teach the concepts
and least mastered skills and in
the study the science concepts
and skills.
Statement of the Problem
This study was conducted to identify
the Effectiveness of Strategic Intervention
Materials in Introduction to the World
Religion and Belief System Among Grade 11
Students in Universidad De Manila.
Furthermore, it sought answer the following
question:
1. What is the performance of students
before using Strategic Intervention
Materials in Introduction to World religion
and beliefs system?
2. What is the performance
of the students after using
Strategic Intervention
Materials in Introduction to
World Religion and Beliefs
system
3. What are the problems
encountered in using Strategic
Intervention Materials in
Introduction to World Religion
and Beliefs System?
4. Is there a significant
difference between
the performance of
the students before
and after engaging
Hypothesis
 If there is no difference between the
result of the pre-test and post test score
of the Grade 11 HUMSS Students that
means they are lacking of understanding
about the topic. Therefore, the students
will be taking up SIM that will serve as
their remedial in Introduction to the
world religion and belief system for the
researchers to know the effectiveness of
SIM in terms of mastering their subject.
Research Method

 Quasi – Experimental Method of


research in determining the
effectiveness of Strategic
Intervention Materials in
Introduction to World Religion
and belief system in Grade 11
students.
Sample and Sampling Technique
 The respondents of the study
were of Senior High school
students taking up the area of
Introduction to World Religion
and Belief system.
 The researcher used Simple
Random Sampling.
Research Instrument

 The research instrument used


was the strategic intervention
material, pre-test and post-
test to the learners
