CHAPTER 1 . Once there was a statue in the center of a city winter was approaching and a swallow had been lost in the night, the swallow sheltered at the feet of the statue that was known as the happy prince; suddenly a drop of water fell, then the swallow flew up to the prince's shoulders and asked: why are you crying? He answered that he was sad because of so many poor people in the town and he could not do anything to be a statue. The prince relied on the swallow to do him a favor, told him about the need of some people, a sick girl to whom he gave a ruby CHAPTER 2 The swallow flies to the shoulders to say goodbye but this one asked him another favor to give an ambitious writer a sapphire which was one of his eyes, and a girl selling phosphorus told him to give him the sapphire of his other eye. The prince tells the swallow that he can continue on his way but the swallow tells him that he will not be his eyes from now on, and the prince tells him to remove pieces of gold from his suit to give to the needy. ..... CHAPTER 3 The winter passed, with him came the other swallows who found out what had happened; They told him that on their trip they met a fairy godmother who would help them to give life to the statue, the happy prince since then the prince lives in his palace with his swallow.
