Transformation and Effort
How the Devas lost their energy

Indra’s pride and curse of the sage

Devas became tired and lost any desire to make efforts

They visited Brahma (Lord of Creation) who directed them to Vishnu (Lord of Protection)

Vishnu said they should churn the milk ocean to drink the Amruta

Amruta will make them immortal - endless energy to act

Devas and Asuras

Good qualities in us - Devas

Bad qualities in us - Asuras

Vishnu said the Devas should invite the asuras to churn the milk ocean

The asuras agreed because they also wanted the amruta

List 5 good qualities and bad qualities in you

Choose one bad quality that you need to transform, so you can find more energy and focus in
studies and life.

How do you plan to change?

Churning with Vasuki & Mt.Meru
Resistance to change

To churn the milk ocean, Vishnu asked the Devas to take the help of the asuras, use Mt. Meru
as pivot, and the snake Vasuki as rope

As the churning began, Vasuki suffered from the friction caused and started spewing venom
(poison)

The churning had to stop because Devas could not take the poison

Asuras did not mind the poison, so they let them near the head and continued churning
Lack of stability

The churning continued, but the mountain started sinking under its weight

There was no stability. Lord Vishnu transformed into a tortoise (Kurmavatara) and held the
mountain
