Lecture Summary
1. What is the concept of Tauheed in Islam?
2. How does the complete belief in Tauheed transforms an
individual's life both physically and spiritually
3. Practical implications of Marifat-e-Tauheed at a group level in a
society or community  

 Everything is understood or recognized by its opposite(zid). If we want to


understand Tauheed then we have to understand Shirk and vice versa.

 A man’s understanding is dependent on condition (kaifiat) and similitude


(misaal )and until you don’t provide these two factors he will not be able to
derive a sound conclusion about any thing.
 Aqle insaani jo hai - jo insaan kai paas quwat darraka hai uskai zariay se insaan
kisi chees kai husn , burai kai bare mai nateeja murattab karta hai

• Surah Al-Hamd -Alhamdulillah Rabil Alameen


A policy statement where Allah claims that he is Rab and therefore(all)
praise, thanks, gratitude, be to Allah alone, not to any one else. Every
kamal originates from ALLAH.

• Meaning of Rab
Parawarish karnay wale kai, jo kisi shay ko wajood bakshay aur phir uskai
liye kamal ki manzil tayyaun kare aur usko kamal ki taraf lejaane kai liye
imkaanat farhaam kare.

Quranic concept of Raboobiat
• Allah has created this world and he rules this world by his Irada. The
existence of creation proves that there is an Originator of creation, Quran
doesn’t discuss this issue as it’s an aqli problem.
• Whereas Quran stresses that Other than Allah nobody can claim Shaane-
e-Raboobiat (Allah kai siwa Shaane-e-Raboobiat kisi ko zeba nahi deti)
Once a person realizes this concept then it leads to the higher Concept of
Uloohiat
Meaning of ILA (Concept of Deen is based on Uloohiat)
• Ila us zaat ko kaha jata hai jis zaat mai paye jaane wale kamal (ilm or
qudrat) se mutassir hokay insaan yeh guman kare kai yeh mujhe koi faida
pohcha sakta hai ya kisi nuksaan se bacha sakta hai.
• Surah Maarij(70) Ayat -19 Inal insana khuliqa haluwa izza massahu sharu
jazua wa izza massahu sharu manua illalmusaleen alzina hum fi salatihim
khashiun
• Man by nature is materialistic

Human Nature and Tauheed
• Human nature is materialistic and recognition (shanakht) is the realization
that every possible benefit is with Allah.
• A man’s will is driven by his nature. Insaani mafaad us zaat se haasil karo
aur har imkaani nuksaan se bachnay ki koshish karo ; jis baat kai saath bhi
yeh fikri equation develop hojaye , yeh shanakht kai badoolat us zaat se
mafaad hasil karnay kai liye us ko raazi karnay kai liye uskai kehnay pe
amal karna shroo karde aur har mushkil waqt mai usse umeed wabista
kare , yehi chees insaan ka ila hai.
Saying of Holy Prophet SAW
• Mai naseehat karta hoon ,La ila illah ka iqrar karo aur us shanakht ko
zindagi mai haasil karo amali zindagi mai dastoor-e- amal ko , pehlay
marhalay mai kalma la ila ilallah shanakht hai aur aglay marhalay mai yeh
practical behavior hai. Kabhi la ilah karta hai aur kabhi ilallah.

Holy Prophet SAW says who is momin ?
Almomino man ?
• A person who recognizes the fact that- Alhamdolillah rabil alameen and
due to this recognition (shankaht) he has belief la ilah illah (Allah kai siwa
koi zaat shaan-e-uloohiat kai laiq nahi hai). The moment this belief enters
his heart and interacts with his nature , a revolution starts in his life and
his thinking becomes uni directional.
• Driving force (Fitrat) + Shanakhht (Marifat-e-Tauheed)  Uni directional
fikr (niyat)
Saying of Holy Prophet SAW:
• Almomino man kana akhzahu billah (Insaan har kaam faqat Allah ko raazi
karnay kai liye karta hai) wa tarkahu billah (who agar kisi shay ko tark karta
hai individual level pe ya group level pe to sirf Allah kai liye) hubaho lillah (
har mohabbat ka jazba Allah ki zaat hoti hai) wa bugzahu billah(kisi se
nafrat karta hai to apni zaat se balatar hokai sirf Allah kai liye karta hai).

Best example of Bugzahu billah
• In the battle of khandaq Hazrat Ali (as) overpowered Amr bin Abdawud
and mounted his chest ready to kill him. Just as Hazrat Ali (as) was about
to kill this enemy of Islam, he spit on the face of Hazrat Ali (as). Hazrat Ali
(as) moved from Amr bin Abdawud's chest and walked away. Amr bin
Abdawud attacked Hazrat Ali (as) again and after a short while, Hazrat Ali
(as) again overpowered Amr bin Abdawud and killed him.
• After the battle of Khandaq was over people asked Hazrat Ali (as) the
reason why he had spared Amr bin Abdawud's life when he had first
overpowered him. To which Hazrat Ali (as) replied that if he had killed him
then it would have not been only for the sake of Allah (SWT) but also for
the satisfaction of his anger and so he let him free. Then Hazrat Ali (as)
controlled his anger and killed Amr bin Abdawud purely for the sake of
Allah (SWT). Therefore Zarbato Ali yun min afzalo ibadat us Saqalian.

Belief in Tauheed and trials of life
• Allah says Allazee khalaqal mawta wal hayata liyablu’akum ayyukum
ahsanu ’amala
• The One Who has created death and life to test you and try you to see
which of you is best in deed
• Who is that person jo manzil ki shanakht sahi rakhta hai kaun hai tum mai
se jo is safar ko hamare bataye hoay tatreeqay pe amal karta hoay tay kare
• [29:2] Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, we believe, and
not be tried?
Belief in Tauheed inculcates patience (Sabr)
• People would be tested for their verbal claim by hurdles and trials of life.
In this exam who would succeed mubashiras sabireen , sabar ka kamal
kaisa paida hota hai , inA LILLAH hum Allah ki taraf se ayae hai hamare
paas koi kamal zaati nahi aur isi ki bargah mai palat kai jaana hai this
concept makes person more patient and makes him more patient.

Example of Momin Al-e- Yasin

• Just like a magnifying glass focuses the scattered rays of sun on to one
point and can generate enough heat to burn something similarly when all
the scattered abilities in a person are focused on one point then only you
have Aqeeda-e-Tauheed like Momin-e- Ale Yasin.
• [36:22] And what reason have I that I should not serve Him Who brought
me into existence? And to Him you shall be brought back;
• [36:23] What! shall I take besides Him gods whose intercession, If the
Beneficent Allah should desire to afflict me with a harm, shall not avail me
aught, nor shall they be able to deliver me? like Momin Al-e-Yasin.

Practical implications of Marifat –e-Tauheed
• Tauheed Inculcates patience (sabr) and keeps a person steadfast in difficult
times
• Makes his will (Irada) stronger than mountains
• With such belief a person can overcome every ila
• All his fears subside and his complete dependence is solely on Allah
• All his energies are focused on a single point (uni directional fikr) and is not
distracted by things like sustenance as he understands Allah’s Shaan-e-
Razzaqiyat.
• The motivation to strive in the way of Allah is developed thru such belief.
When complete belief in Tauheed translates into action then you have
examples of pious and unpretentious charity by the Ahl ul Bayt A.S
• [76:8] And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan
and the captive
• [76:9] We only feed you for Allah's sake; we desire from you neither
reward nor thanks

Aqeedah –e-Tauheed at a group level (ijtimai satah pe)
• When Aqeedah-e-Tauheed reaches its kamaal then you automatically
develop the will to stand against any injustice in a society and revolt
against oppressors.
• In order to transform a society you need a jamaat of people having such
beliefs and a central leadership like Imam Khomenis to bring about a
revolution.
• Such a community should be created that instead of an individual teaching
about Tauheed the society itself becomes a manifestation of Tauheed.

Questions:
When Allah is beniaz from us, our amal , namaz then what is the need for
creating us ?
Example pray namaz then question why pray, every answer leads to
another question and the final question will refer to Allah’s will and none
can question him
