simple

PRESENT PERFECT
WHEN WE USE THE PRESENT PERFECT
• We use the present perfect to talk about something in the past that
has a link to the present
• We form the present perfect with has/have
FORMULA OF PRESENT PERFECT
• (+) S + have/has + past participle
• (-) S + have not/has not + past participle
• (?) Have/has + S + past participle
PRESENT PERFECT WITH JUST, ALREADY ,YET
,EVER.
• Just goes before the main verb.
• Already goes before the main verb, or at the end of the sentence.
• Yet goes at the end of sentence with a negative verb or a question.I
means ‘up to now’
• Ever goes before the main verb in question.It means ‘at any time in
the past up to now’
EXAMPLE PRESENT PERFECT
• We’ve spent hours in the recording studio
• I haven’t made a recording
• Have you seen this website?
PRACTICE
• Emma :Mum,(1) …………… (you/see) my phone?
• Mum :No,I(2) ……………. (not/see) it since yesterday.(3)

• We use the past simple to talk about completed actions in the past.It
only refers to the past
• We use the past simple to talk about action which began and ended

• (+) S + V2 + Object OR S + to(was/were) +Adjective/Adverb
• (-) S + Did not + Infinitive verb + Object OR S + Was/Were not +
Adjective + Adverb
• (?) Did + S +Infinitive verb + Object + ? OR Was/Were + S +
Adjective/Adverb
EXAMPLE PAST SIMPLE
• (+) We spent hours in the recording studio yesterday.
• (-)I didn’t finish my song
• (?) Did the learn lots of songs last weekend?
