An Investigative Study – The view of

some employers on the educational


background of Applicants
Chapter 1
• Education isnt just a word that makes you a great individual, Time spent in
high school, college or graduate school helps you master both basic and
advanced skills. The longer the time you spent studying, the better you
become as a person. Nowadays, a lot of people in this planet is not
capable of having a good kind of education. There are a lot of factors that
affects this situation, one of which is poverty. Poverty rate in every country
is increasing time to time, some country has a constant stream of people
that cant afford or isnt capable of having a decent education. That’s why
there is a lot of people that is currently unemployed today. But still there
is some people that has a decent attainment of education. The most
common level of education here in the Philippines is a senior high school
or a high school graduate. Based on the Philippine star journal, only of
them or around 25 percent of the original graduates would be able to
obtain a college degree. That’s why there is a barrier within employers and
applicants . According to Jobstreet. It reveals that 35 percent of employers
are not yet ready to employ graduates within this range because of the
lack of experience. In this study we want to identify what is the causes of
unemployment and see every factors that will affect in this study.

• Many employers require you to have a specific type and
level of education to qualify for certain jobs. Workplace
educational discrimination happens when an employer
requires that you have a level of education that isn’t
necessary for the job. While there are laws to prohibit
educational discrimination, some biases can still emerge in
the workplace. Discrimination can happen when an
employer understands the educational demographics of
people in the job market, or educational backgrounds of
particular individuals, and sets requirements for hiring or
promotion that are meant to exclude certain individuals or
groups. That’s why people that is below expectations of
every employer tends to become unemployed. That’s why
this study is fascinating in some aspects
