INTRODUCTION
You might have come across the term personal growth and
wondered what it means. Personal growth is also called self-
improvement and self-growth, but what it means?
This term refers to various techniques for improving one’s
habits, behavior, actions and reactions.

Here are a few examples to clarify what is personal

growth:

 Learning to control anger

 Learning to overcome procrastination
 Learning to overcome laziness
 Learning to be more polite and considerate
 Becoming a more responsible person
 Learning new things and developing new skills
 Changing your mindset and becoming more positive
Successful personal growth requires
motivation, the desire to improve,
and the willingness to strive to
make changes. You also need to be
willing to get out of your comfort
zone, and sometimes, do things
that are uncomfortable, but are for
your own good. An open mind and
the desire to learn and grow are
also important.
Personal growth is an ongoing
process that starts from an early
age, but mostly shaped by parents,
teachers, and the environment.
However to make the most of it,
you need to become aware of the
process, know what it is, and take
the right steps to grow and improve
yourself.
There are no excuses to start becoming a better version of yourself, as
long as you feel like doing it, attitute, perseverance, etc. You can
achieve everything you set out to do.
An example of this is Nick Vujicic, he is an Australian man who was
born without arms and legs; he had no legs but two small feet, one of
which had two toes.
Vujicic became one of the first physically disabled students integrated
into a mainstream school once those laws changed. However, his lack of
limbs made him a target for school bullies, and he fell into a severe
depression. At age eight, he contemplated suicide and even tried to
drown himself in his bathtub at age ten; his love for his parents
prevented him from following through. He also stated in his music video
"Something More" that God had a plan for his life and he could not bring
himself to drown because of this.
Nick prayed very hard that God would give him arms and legs,
and initially told God that, if his prayer remained unanswered,
Nick would not praise him indefinitely. However, a key turning
point in his faith came when his mother showed him a
newspaper article about a man dealing with a severe disability.
Vujicic realized he wasn't unique in his struggles and began to
embrace his lack of limbs. After this, Nick realized his
accomplishments could inspire others and became grateful for
his life.
He founded in 2008 an organization called “Life Without
Limbs”. This organization helps people without limbs through
motivational talks, such as fear, rejection, depression, suffering
and even unanswered prayers.
PERSONAL OPINION
I believe that every person can do what they propose,
regardless of the conditions or circumstances, each one
is owner of their destiny and if there is a desire to
improve, to grow as a human being, I believe that
nothing is impossible in this life. You will always meet
people who will try to knock you down and make you feel
you’re worth nothing but that’s where self-confidence
comes into play, do not let anyone put a stop to the
things you dream of, your destiny and future are yours
and no one else’s.
LOVE YOURSELF, TRUST YOUR ABILITIES AND YOU
WILL SEE THAT EVERYTHING WILL TURN OUT
BETTER.
