Charades (mechanics)

• Each group will have 1 representative.


• The group’s representative will act out the
word given to them, the words can either be a
“verb or an adjective”. They are not allowed to
speak but they can use body movements to
reveal the word.
• The remaining group members will try to
guess what the word as quickly as possible
before time runs out.

A cinquain is a five line poem that
was invented by Adelaide
Crapsey. She was an American
poet who took her inspiration
from Japanese haiku and tanka.
A collection of poems, titled
Verse, was published in 1915.
Cinquain Format
Line 1 : A noun
Line 2 : Two adjectives to describe the noun
Line 3 : Three action words ending in –ing
Line 4 : A short statement about the topic
Line 5 : A noun that is a synonym for line 1

1. The teacher will give a piece of paper to
every students. They will be tasked to write
their own cinquain.
2. After it, the students will put their own
composed cinquain in the box, the teacher
will pick one paper at a time.
3. The students who own the chosen cinquain
will read it their works in front of the class,
tell something about it and their inspiration
on writing it.
