    INTEGRATION
    DEFINITION:
    • The Association of Southeast Asian (ASEAN) goal is to
    strengthen the foundation for a prosperous and peaceful
    community of Southeast Asian nations while creating a
    community that lived in shared stability and prosperity.
    ADVANTAGES OF ASEAN

    • 1. Easier and cheaper travel options for everyone


    • 2. Cheaper goods and services
    • 3. More and better jobs
    • 4. More study options
    • 5. The Philippines: Improved
    DISADVANTAGES OF ASEAN
    • Risk of an influx of cheap imports flooding local markets
    and the existence of poor governance in some member
    countries
    • Another issue raised is the “double standard” on non-
    interference of ASEAN member-states. It is like a double-
    edged sword, in the sense that it could open discussions
    and at the same time block them.
